I have been noticing the turbulence in life has caught up with many. Folks who have been fighting the good fight are feeling increasingly defeated and exhausted. Many are looking for answers as the old ways are not working.
In trying to do the right thing, we often narrow our focus and lose sight of the big picture. As we push our agenda, we dwell on the tactics and forget that our way of being has a big influence on the quality of the outcome.
If we are tired, scattered, cranky, or overwhelmed, we bring those qualities into our efforts. This means we further complicate the situations that we want to resolve. Our efforts might backfire, causing more work and frustration.
As challenges intensify, our self-preservation instinct takes over. We come up with worst-case scenarios, causing more anxiety or unrest. Our effort to be positive is short-lived because we feel bombarded by discouraging news.
A Chinese saying comes to mind: take a step back, and the sea and sky will expand boundless and vast. Our perception expands when we stop pushing ahead. We can gain insights that elevate our thinking and invigorate us.
When we focus on problems, we see challenges as separate events. When we step back, we see patterns and interconnections between seemingly unrelated incidents. This clarity helps us identify ingenious solutions in unlikely places.
How we see ourselves and our perception of reality are intertwined. If we do not know what we are made of, it is easy to let circumstances or people’s opinions and behaviors to overpower us.
Do you know that our body is a map of the Universe? It is like the tongue and feet are maps of the body. The power of the Universe is within us, and most of us are utilizing a small fraction (5-10 percent) of our capacities.
The qualities we admire in others give us great clues about our dormant capabilities. The mind might quickly assume “I am not that.” This one thought repeated over time alienates ourselves from the full version of us.
Everything in life serves to awaken us to our multidimensional capabilities. When we learn to see beyond the facade of problems and crises, we open ourselves to seeing golden opportunities and truth that are hidden in plain sight.
Next Wednesday, I will share with you the map for bridging the multidimensional aspects of ourselves so that we can transform perceived limitations and become the solutions we seek.
