Hearing how my healing journey has led me to my vocation, a friend said I am lucky. For decades, I didn’t feel lucky because I was consumed by doubts and worries. I worked hard because I thought it was up to me for things to work out.
Over time, I have learned to create my luck by observing what I focus on. I started practicing gratitude and began to notice coincidences. As I become consistent with my practice, more synchronicities turn into serendipities.
In the world of serendipities, the right people and information show up at the perfect time; problems and mistakes lead to unexpected opportunities; and missed opportunities turn out to be blessings in disguise.
It is humbling to realize there is so much more to life than it seems. I still do my best, but I feel less pressure because many factors are at play influencing the outcome. It becomes easier to let go and trust the Universal Intelligence.
Training the inner skeptic and doubter in me to trust the flow of the Universe is a journey. When I decided that I was done with “working hard,” I committed to allowing something bigger to lead the way.
The more I surrender to the love force, the luckier I become. I begin to understand why Deepak Chopra said we can accomplish more by doing less and ultimately accomplish everything by doing nothing.
If we want to cocreate with the Universe, being willing to step aside is a must. As we hold a vision and take steps towards our dreams, it is important to pay attention to the breadcrumbs that lead us to something better and bigger.
Many of us are good at following the script. We learned that certain conditions need to be in place for us to feel safe and content. When the happenings in life deviate from the script, we become upset. We focus on what is wrong.
Being raised to follow the script, one of my breakthroughs came from taking improv classes in a comedy club. It was supposed to be fun, but the idea of going to an improv class felt like paralyzing anxiety to me.
Thanks to my will power and the idea that you can’t do it wrong, I managed to attend the classes. I began to loosen up, have fun and gain access to creativity I didn’t know I have. Those classes also have a profound impact on my work.
Will power helps us to get things done. When channelled improperly, it can also cause us to be rigid in our thinking. Those of us who find security by following the script in life tend to be stiff and tense in the body.
Our mental body is connected with the solar plexus, which is in the upper abdominal area. When we keep insisting on how things go, we are living in resistance. Over time, the improper use of the mind leads to digestive issues.
Improper use of the mind doesn’t limit to being stubborn, negative or judgmental. It also includes struggling with analysis paralysis. Due to lack of trust, we find safety by coming up with backup plans.
The solar plexus is the home of our personal power. When we are in our power, we are confident in being our best without the need to control the outcome. We are not threatened by people’s behaviors or hooked onto their reactions.
The more we accept ourselves, the less we need others to behave in certain ways so that we can feel good. We engage with others for connection, not because we are trying to run away from ourselves.
No matter how things turn out, we trust ourselves enough to know we can adapt. When things don’t work out, we redirect our focus to something more aligned with our values. We turn despair into a new sense of purpose.
A woman thought she might be causing her daughter not being able to bear a child. She also felt despair about the politics. She wasn’t sure how she could express her creativity. After working with me for a few weeks, she is at peace.
She has developed habits that strengthen her sense of self. Her change opened her to a unique opportunity to work with someone she greatly respects. This unexpected turn of event is exciting and gives her a new direction in life.
Being able to tap into our personal power is invaluable. The process opens the heart, which is the seat of the soul. Just because we can love someone or feel the pain in the world does not mean our hearts are open.
An open heart allows the Universe to pour through us. We feel the love that nourishes us no matter what is happening. We become more able to tame the mental chatter so that we can listen to our hearts.
Listening to the heart helps us surrender to something greater than the script we are told to live by. As we develop a stronger sense of self, we see how the Universe meets us in great proportion. It is a wonderful way to honor ourselves.
I wish you a beautiful Valentine’s weekend finding new ways to honor you.
